#FitReaders Check-In #11

Geeky Bloggers Book Blog
  • This check-in is for March 9th – 15th.  My goal was an average of 8K steps per day.  I came so close to meeting it that, even with going on a weekend meditation retreat, all I needed was a little more than 7K steps on Sunday.  However, I hurt my back, and with that, any hopes of getting those steps went with me to the couch.  I’m still in quite a bit of pain and not able to move around much, so I’m not even trying to meet my goal this week.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week that I meet my goal, until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.
  • If you’d like to add me as a friend on FitBit, you can find me HERE.
  • Total Steps: 48,906
  • Total Distance: 20.27 miles
  • Total Floors Climbed: 106

  • This check-in is for March 2nd – 8th.  My goal was an average of 8K steps per day.  I was derailed by the weather for part of the week, and thanks to a ridiculous amount of school work, I wasn’t able to get out even when the weather wasn’t horrible.  So, I’ll be repeating the week. Again.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week that I meet my goal, until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.
  • I’m already behind this week, and since I’ll be spending most of the weekend at a meditation retreat, I’m not likely to meet my goal. *sigh*

  • Total Steps: 27,330
  • Total Distance: 11.23 miles
  • Total Floors Climbed: 58

  • This check-in is for Feb. 23rd – March 1st.  My goal for this week was an average of 8K steps per day.  I was completely derailed by the weather, so I’ll be repeating the week.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week that I meet my goal, until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  I didn’t go to any hot yoga classes this week.
  • Ice, sleet, rain, temps in the low 30’s, and “real feel’s” in the 20’s.  If it’s too dangerous to drive to school, I’m not going anywhere.  Most of this week is supposed to be crappy, too, but hopefully I’ll be able to make up for it when it’s not.

  • This check-in is for Feb. 16th – 22th.  My goal for this week was an average of 8K steps per day.  I didn’t meet my goal, not even close, so I’ll be repeating the week.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week that I meet my goal, until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  I didn’t go to any hot yoga classes this week.
  • I felt physically, emotionally, and mentally drained most of this week, and didn’t have the willpower to get off my butt or eat healthy.  I’m proud of myself for recognizing what was happening, and not forcing myself to stick to my goals or seeing it as a major setback.  I didn’t eat mindlessly or allow myself to forget that I needed to workout.  Instead, I made a conscious decision to let this week go and not beat myself up about it.  Sometimes I just need to be a slob.

  • This check-in is for Feb. 9th – 15th.  My goal for this week was an average of 7K steps per day, and since I hit that goal, I’ll be working towards 8K steps per day from Feb. 16th – 22nd.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  I didn’t go to any hot yoga classes this week.
  • If it weren’t for this challenge, I don’t think I would have met my goal this week.  I pushed myself harder than I would have if I didn’t do these weekly check-ins.  8K steps a day is going to be difficult because I’m now at the point where I have to walk every day.  In previous weeks, I was able to get enough steps to cover multiple days, so if something came up, I was still covered.  That also allowed for full rest days.  Now I don’t have that option, so I’m not sure how that’s going to work for the days when I’m stuck at my computer writing my research papers.
  • One thing I’m proud of is that I’m beginning to see a difference in my level of fitness.  I still haven’t lost any weight or inches, but when the Boyfriend and I were walking our usual route, which includes a steep hill, I didn’t get winded going up the hill.  In fact, the Boyfriend and I continued our conversation all the way to the top and I didn’t even need to stop to catch my breath 🙂

  • This check-in is for Feb. 2nd – 8th.  My goal for this week was an average of 6K steps per day, and since I hit that goal, I’ll be working towards 7K steps per day from Feb. 9th – 15th.  This is where I’ve had trouble meeting my goal in the past, so I’m going to work extra hard to meet it this time.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  I didn’t go to any hot yoga classes this week.

  • This check-in is for Jan. 26th – Feb. 1st.  My goal for this week was an average of 5K steps per day, and since I hit that goal, I’ll be working towards 6K steps per day from Feb. 2nd – 7th.
  • I’ll add 1K steps each week until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  I didn’t go to any hot yoga classes this week.  I wanted to, but trying to get all the writing and reading done on time for my college classes kept me from going.

  • Total Steps: 40,923
  • Total Distance: 16.81 miles
  • Total Floors Climbed: 87 – This probably seems like a lot, but if you saw my campus, which is nothing but hills and stairs, it would make perfect sense.

  • This check-in is for Jan. 19th – 25th.  My goal for this week was an average of 4K steps per day, and since I hit that goal, I’ll be working towards 5K steps per day from Jan. 26th – Feb. 1st.  I’ll add 1K steps each week until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging.  The Boyfriend and I have been going to Hot Yoga classes since last Monday, and WOW! They are the most difficult yoga classes I’ve ever been through.  If you’d like to add me as a friend on FitBit, you can find me HERE.
  • I participated in another Work Week Hustle Fitbit challenge last week, but I placed last.  The other participants really knocked out those steps!  I hope to do better on the next challenge.  Despite not doing so well in the challenge, I did increase my total mileage, and I more than doubled the number of floors I climbed.  I know that’s mostly due to being back on campus, which is nothing but hills and stairs.  Let’s just put it this way, I carry a towel with me in my bag, regardless of the weather, so I can mop up all the sweat when I get to class.  I’m not looking forward to when it starts getting hot again.
  • Total Steps: 30,650
  • Total Distance: 12.61 miles
  • Total Floors Climbed: 43

This check-in is for Jan. 12th – 18th.  My goal for this week was an average of 3K steps per day, and since I hit that goal, I’ll be working towards 4K steps per day from Jan. 19th – 25th.  Every week I reach my goal, I’ll add 1K steps until I’m completing 12K steps per day.  After that, I’ll add in resistance training and/or jogging, depending on how my knees are doing.  The Boyfriend and I will also be going to Hot Yoga classes starting today!  If you’d like to add me as a friend on FitBit, you can find me HERE.
I wasn’t feeling well this week, so I didn’t get nearly as many steps as last week. However, I’m participating in another Work Week Hustle Fitbit challenge that started today, so I’ll be moving around a lot more.  I only came in 7th place for the last challenge, so my goal is to at least place that or better.
  • Total Steps: 25,607
  • Total Distance: 10.51 miles
  • Total Floors Climbed: 21

This week was much better than last week, and I know that’s due to the Workweek Hustle Fitbit challenge that I participated in.  I only came in 7th place, but I had fun trying to catch up to and/or pass the other participants.  Thanks to all of them for keeping me going!  I hope to join in on another challenge soon.
