  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.
  • Active Days: 7/7
  • Steps: 29,984
  • Miles: 12.36

Monday’s Minutes

“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life.

Currently Reading:

  • A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel
  • The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers
  • Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Feist
  • The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald
  • Spying on the South by Tony Horwitz

Finished:

  • The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Total pages read this week: 172

Total books for the year: 40 of 85. I am trying to get my life back in order, and figured one of the best ways to start that process would be to read something motivational. I had been wanting to read The Miracle Morning for quite awhile, so thought it would be the perfect book to get me started. I was right. It’s not a perfect book, but it was what I needed to get my butt in gear.

Total books for the year: 39 of 85. I wasn’t supposed to start any new books until I finished at least one of the books I’ve been reading for several months now. However, Spying on the South came highly recommended, and since it was published about a year ago, I decided not to wait. It also fits in with the “Literature of the American Renaissance” class I’ve been taking, since it’s about the travels and writings of Frederick Olmstead shortly before the Civil War.

#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for May 22nd – 28th.
  • We had a weird-for-this-time-of-year heat wave, and the idea of doing anything other than hanging out in front of the fan (I don’t have AC) felt like torture.  Luckily, I got a decent amount of exercise on Sunday before the heat wave hit.
  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.
  • Active Days: 1/5
  • Steps: 7,824
  • Miles: 3.21

Total books for the year: 37 of 85. Everything else I’ve been reading was automatically put on hold after I received my copy of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in the mail. I’m about two-thirds through, and I will probably finish it today, especially since it’s Memorial Day, and I stay off social media on this day.
