Total books for the year: 46 of 85. The #ReverseReadathon was this weekend, and it was exactly what I needed, along with the two books I picked up from the library. I thought I would finish The Dante Club shortly after the readathon, but that didn’t happen. I have just over a hundred pages left, and I know I’ll finish it this week because I have another book to pick up from the library.

Total books for the year: 45 of 85. So much for finishing at least one of my current reads! I went on a short vacation to Lake Tahoe, and I thought I would be spending quite a bit of my time relaxing with a book, but that didn’t happen. I did relax, but while walking around, eating wonderful food, and napping.

Shortly before I left on my trip, my local public library announced they were reopening for curbside pickup. I immediately put a couple of books on hold, including The Archived. My books were ready to be picked up by time I got back home, so I hopped on the bus to go get them. I started reading The Archived as soon as I got back to the bus stop to go home. I don’t know what took me so long to read this book!

It has been worth it, though! I have already gotten so many things done, and my life feels much more organized than it did before.

Total books for the year: 42 of 85. Reading The Miracle Morning last week was probably the best thing I’ve done for myself so far this year. I’ve been doing Miracle Mornings every day since last Monday, and part of the Miracle Morning is to read other motivational books. I got into the 2 books I finished this week during my Miracle Mornings, and then continued to read them throughout the day when I had time. I’ve also been watching a lot of Mel Robbins’ videos on Youtube. All of that is helping me stick with doing what needs to be done to reach my goals and make lasting positive changes in my life.

I had been wanting to read The Miracle Morning for quite awhile, so thought it would be the perfect book to get me started. I was right. It’s not a perfect book, but it was what I needed to get my butt in gear.

However, Spying on the South came highly recommended, and since it was published about a year ago, I decided not to wait. It also fits in with the “Literature of the American Renaissance” class I’ve been taking, since it’s about the travels and writings of Frederick Olmstead shortly before the Civil War.
