I finished The Final Trade the night before the end of #SciFiSummer, and with that, I became a wibbly-wobbly Time Lord! The Summer has officially regenerated into Autumn, and now I can really dig in deep to the creepy-crawly, spooky fun of Readers Imbibing Peril! The narrator of The Turn of the Key, Imogen Church is hitting that spot just right, and I almost wish I had waited until the middle of the night during next month’s #Readathon to listen to it. I’ve been enjoying her stellar narration so much that I looked up all of the other audiobooks she has narrated and bought one that happened to be on my wish list (Lost For Words by Stephanie Butland). I won’t be listening to it until after #RIP, but I am looking forward to it.

I have a little more than a hundred pages left of The Final Trade, and there are only a couple of days left of #SciFiSummer. If I do manage to finish it, it will be just barely, and me being “just barely” a Time Lord sounds about right!

I’m 3 books into Readers Imbibing Peril, and I have so many more that I want to read that I’m having a difficult time trying to decide which one I’ll read next. That’s a good problem to have, I suppose, but it’s driving me a little nuts.

I’m starting to think that I’m never going to finish The Final Trade, at least not before the end of #SciFiSummer. As usual, I am off to a good start for Readers Imbibing Peril. Both of the audiobooks I finished this week work for both challenges, and if I do manage to finish just one more Sci-Fi book by the 21st, I’ll officially be a Time Lord! I think it will be the first time I’ve gotten to that level.

I’m posting this earlier than usual because I will be busy visiting family this weekend. I have one book to finish for #SciFiSummer that doesn’t qualify for Readers Imbibing Peril. Since Sci-Fi Summer is nearly over (it officially ends on September 21st), I want to finish The Final Trade before I start any other ebooks. I’m taking it with me on my trip, but I don’t know if I will have time for anything other than audiobooks while I’m on the road. Speaking of audiobooks, Malorie is good so far, but I want answers and I don’t think I’m going to get them! I have less than an hour left, with a 3-hour drive ahead of me, so I’ve made sure I’ve got several options for my next audiobook downloaded to my phone.

I still have two books to finish for #SciFiSummer by September 1st when Readers Imbibing Peril starts. Then I can start a book that works for both challenges, and I think Suspicious Minds by Gwenda Bond would be perfect since it’s the first “Stranger Things” book.

I’m now a Jedi in the #SciFiSummer challenge. I’m hoping to finish up the three Sci-Fi books I’m currently reading by the end of the month, but I’m not 100% sure I’ll be able to do it. I’ll keep reading Sci-Fi through the end of the challenge, but Readers Imbibing Peril starts September 1st, and I only have two books that I know of that would work for both challenges. Both books are “Doctor Who” books, so I’ll have to read something else in between them. There’s no way I can handle back-to-back “Doctor Who” without it majorly affecting my dreams.

I only need to finish one more book for #SciFiSummer to achieve the next level, “Jedi.” That’s more than possible, but I highly doubt I’ll be able to reach “Time Lord” by the end of the challenge. I’m still ok with that since I’ve already finished more books that I originally planned.

I finally finished How to Invent Everything late last night before I went to bed, and I have no idea which book from my TBR stack for #SciFiSummer I’ll pick up next. Whichever book I choose, it will probably be a shorter one, since it took me a month to finish How to Invent Everything.

This has been a very stressful week, and I’ve been too tired to read much. I’ve got less than two hours left of Something Rotten, according to Audible, so I’m hoping I’ll at least have that finished by the middle of the week at the latest.

I feel like this was a slow reading week, even though I turned 308 pages. I didn’t finish any books, so maybe that’s why. It may also be partly because I’m struggling to get through How to Invent Everything. It’s interesting, but it’s definitely not action-packed. It’s more of a humorous history of civilization through our inventions. I’ve gotten about halfway through it, so hopefully, I’ll be able to finish it in a couple of weeks.
