Currently Reading:

  • Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee
  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
  • The Revenge of Analog by David Sax
  • Hacking Happiness by John C. Havens
  • Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy

Finished:

  • Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics by Chris Grabenstein

Total pages read this week: 501
Total books for the year: 29 of 50. Today is the first day of Bout of Books 25! It’s not June yet, and I’m 11 books ahead of schedule for reaching my goal of 50 books. So, while my goals for #BoutofBooks are the same as usual, it will be a very low pressure challenge for me this time around.  I’ll be happy if I finish one of my current reads, or at least read more than 300 pages this week.

Total books for the year: 28 of 50. I spent a lot of time reading this week, but most of my reading material was in the form of magazines and the little books I got in my first package from the Mouse Book Club. I’m trying to keep myself off of my phone as much as possible, but that doesn’t always mean I have a physical and full-length book with me since I spend a lot of time on the bus and don’t always have the space in my bag.

Total books for the year: 26 of 50. I’ve had a significant amount of time to read since I started the Digital Decluttering “challenge” in Digital Minimalism. As you might be able to tell, I’m also on a bit of a Non-Fiction kick. I’m not really sure why I’m choosing Non-Fiction over Fantasy, but I am learning a lot. Maybe that’s just what my brain needs right now.

Total books for the year: 24 of 50. This was a slow reading week.  I was focused on work and doing some much needed Spring cleaning at home. On top of that, I was dealing with a bit of insomnia (which is the only reason I managed to finish Stranger in the Woods) and feeling depressed.

Total books for the year: 23 of 50. This weekend was Dewey’s 24-Hour #Readathon.  I may have to increase my goal for the year, but I’m going to hold off until at least October’s Readathon before I make that decision.

Total books for the year: 14 of 50. It was the Boyfriend’s Birthday this weekend, and I was swamped with work stuff all week.  Naturally, reading took a back seat.  I have no regrets, though, especially since this weekend is Dewey’s 24-Hour #Readathon.

Total books for the year: 13 of 50. I finally finished Smash! and then decided to immediately start Cinderella’s Big Score because, as much as I loved Smash!, it didn’t mention any female Punk bands.  That’s fine, since it was the story of Green Day, The Offspring, and Rancid (along with a couple of other 90’s Punk bands), but it’s Women’s History Month, and I need a little more L7, Bikini Kill, and Veruca Salt (along with so many more) in my life right now.

I thought I would finish Smash! this week, but I got sucked in to Women in Texas, which nearly the first half is all about some of the women who lived before Texas became a state on up to the Civil War.  I will finish both books before the end of the month, though, and hopefully all three.
