We’re now a whole day into the 24 in 48 readathon! Update #2
YAY! I read 300 pages after I got back from having brunch with my friend.
Current Reads:
Wizard and Glass by Stephen King
Pages Read: 300
Time Read: 7 hours 30 minutes
My next update will be at 9 am Pacific time. I don’t know if I’m going to finish Wizard and Glass before I go to bed, but I’m going to try!
It’s hour 12 of the 24 in 48 readathon and here’s my first update! Update #1
Since the official start time was 12 am EST and I live in California, I had intended to read a bit before I went to bed. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Instead, I realized just how exhausted I was from an extremely busy week at my new job, and decided to go to sleep early.
I also didn’t read this morning because I was busy getting ready to get out the door to meet with a friend for brunch. I swear I will read A LOT before my next update, but until then, below is what I intended to read.
Current Read: Wizard and Glass by Stephen King
Pages Read: 0
Time Read: 0
My next update will be at 9 pm Pacific time, and I’m sure I’ll have much more to share! See you then 🙂
Another #24in48 Readathon is Happening.Right.Now, 9 pm PST (Midnight for all y’all East Coasters)! This is the Readathon that started it all for me. I created this blog so I could better connect with the online bookish community. This will be my 8th 24 in 48, and I’m so excited that I’ll be able to participate all weekend! Goals:
Read for 24 hours.
Finish at least three books.
TBR:
The first 3 on my TBR are books I’m currently reading. All of the book covers are linked to Goodreads.
“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life. All book covers are linked to Goodreads unless otherwise noted. Currently Reading:
How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell
Sarah’s Quilt by Nancy E. Turner
Wizard and Glass by Stephen King
Finished:
The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
Total pages read this week: 327 Total books for the year: 41 of 50. I started a new job on Wednesday, and thanks to the commute, I’m able to do a lot more reading now.

Down the TBR Hole was started by Lia over at Lost in a Story. All book covers are linked to Goodreads unless otherwise noted.
How it works:
Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
Order on ascending date added.
Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
Read the synopses of the books
Decide: keep it or should it go?
I will be repeating this process until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR.
My TBR pile is up again to 672 books. I came across a few books that I couldn’t resist adding to my wish list while I was reading a new-to-me blog.
This week’s books:
Chasing the Flameby Samantha Power – GO. This is not the book I thought it was. I thought it was the memoir of someone else who had survived extreme burns over most of his body, but I can’t remember his name. I just remember watching an interview and then looking for a book that supposedly had the same title.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini – KEEP. This is one of those extremely popular books that everyone but me seems to have read. My BFF says it was beyond boring, but we sometimes disagree about books, so I’ll give this one the 50 page test.
How to Train a Wild Elephant by Jan Chozen Bays – KEEP. This is one of the many books on Mindfulness that I own, but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. I probably will the next time I need to “relearn” the skills I learned in therapy.
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous – GO. I’m just not that interested in reading about a teenager’s story of drug addiction.
Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen – KEEP. I’ve always been curious about this book, since it’s supposed to be the ultimate armchair-travel experience, but I didn’t add it to my TBR until watching “Gilmore Girls.”
My TBR pile is down again to 670 books. I haven’t yet started any Sci-Fi books for #SciFiSummer, but I’m hoping that now that I’m back home from my trip to Florida, that will change soon.
