#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for July 17th – 23rd.
  • This was a rough week.  My cat, Dresden, got sick, and I had to take him to the vet.  I felt tired all week, and was dealing with allergies.  My feet and legs have been hurting thanks to plantar faciitis and ITBS, and I had to go back to doing my physical therapy exercises instead of the workouts I had planned.  Hopefully next week will be better.
  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.
  • Active Days: 7/7
  • Steps: 24,337/40,000
  • Miles: 10.00
  • Total Miles: 311.21
  • Active Minutes: 149/300

Monday’s Minutes

“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life.

Currently Reading:

  • A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel
  • The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers
  • Spying on the South by Tony Horwitz
  • The Prime by Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary

Finished:

  • A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
  • The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald

Total pages read this week: 543

Total books for the year: 45 of 85. I accomplished quite a bit of reading this week, partly because I spent a large chunk of my weekend reading with the Boyfriend. He’s really into The Sandman graphic novels right now, and I needed a weekend of relaxation.

#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for July 3rd – 9th.
  • In addition to my daily exercise, I’m going to add in a weekend 30 minute cardio workout.  I’ve been focusing on doing my physical therapy exercises, and I think my back is at a point where I can handle some cardio.
  • This week was a struggle, so it’s no surprise that I didn’t hit my step or active minutes goals.  I’m hoping the addition of some cardio will help change that.
  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.

Total books for the year: 42 of 85. It was another slow reading week, but only because I started implementing the Getting Things Done method, and that took up quite a bit of my time. It has been worth it, though! I have already gotten so many things done, and my life feels much more organized than it did before.

#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for June 26th – July 2nd.
  • I’m less than 100 miles from finishing the Appalachian Trail on Walking 4 Fun.  It’s taken me over 3 years to get to this point, but I’m still looking forward to reaching Mount Katahdin, and then starting a new virtual trail.
  • My stats are still increasing each week.  I increased my step count by a little more than 2K, and added on nearly an hour’s worth of active minutes!  I’m going to try to get my steps to 40K and my active minutes to 300 this week.
  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.

  • This check-in is for June 19th – 25th.
  • I’m sticking with the Noom program, but I still haven’t lost any weight.  I’m just glad to have the motivation to eat healthier food and be more active.  Hopefully, the weight loss will happen at some point, but I do have more energy (most days), and I feel healthier.  That’s supposed to be the point, right?
  • You may have noticed that my stats are slowly increasing each week.  Seeing that definitely makes me happy!

Total books for the year: 42 of 85. Reading The Miracle Morning last week was probably the best thing I’ve done for myself so far this year. I’ve been doing Miracle Mornings every day since last Monday, and part of the Miracle Morning is to read other motivational books. I got into the 2 books I finished this week during my Miracle Mornings, and then continued to read them throughout the day when I had time. I’ve also been watching a lot of Mel Robbins’ videos on Youtube. All of that is helping me stick with doing what needs to be done to reach my goals and make lasting positive changes in my life.
