I thought I was going to be working today, but upper management gave everyone the day off, and let us all leave early on Wednesday.
I didn’t do much yesterday besides cook, eat, and read, and while I had plans to do some more unpacking, it’s snowing out so I don’t know if that will happen. There are still so many boxes in the garage, mostly books, and I really want to be able to park the car in there now that I have to scrape the windshield in the mornings before I leave for work.
I didn’t do much reading again this week. Instead, I did things to better winterize the house and did a lot of organizing and cleaning when I wasn’t working. I only have Thanksgiving day off from work this week, and it’s the first job I’ve had that I didn’t have Friday off as well. Hopefully, I’ll be able to spend the weekend mostly reading.
I had 3 days of mandatory training at work that was 100% virtual and I was stuck at my desk. I’m looking forward to moving around a lot more, at least until the next training.
Despite the training, I still managed to do a lot of moving around this week, mostly after work and during the weekend.
Despite having Veteran’s Day off and the house to myself for most of the week, I didn’t do much reading. I don’t know if it’s a reading slump or what, but I’m getting concerned that I’m not going to make my annual reading goal for the first time since I started setting one.
My synovitis came back with a vengence this week, and I ended up having to take a day off from work. Since I also had Veterans’ Day off, I took the opportunity to rest and not do much.
Now that I’m working full-time again, I feel like the only time I have to read is when I listen to audiobooks during my commute and a little bit before bed. It doesn’t help that I’m spending the majority of my weekend unpacking and finding a place for everything in the house. I emptied a lot of boxes this weekend, but it feels like I hardly made a dent.
#RIP is now over, and while I didn’t finish any more books or make anymore Bingos, the Boyfriend and I watched “The Shining” on Friday and “Crimson Peak” on Saturday after we finished “Brand New Cherry Flavor.” I started a new job on Monday, and while I could read during my 30-minute lunch, I get along really well with my coworkers and have spent my lunchtime chatting with them while I eat instead.
I started a new job on Monday, so while my steps are down a bit this week, I’ll soon be getting a lot more thanks to there being no parking where I work. I found a parking garage with a decent monthly pass that is a couple of blocks away, so I’ll be hoofing it back and forth to the office most days.
I finally got a Bingo for RIP, and not only did I get one, but I got two, thanks to Meddling Kids and The Sweet Far Thing. I’m reading the group book now, The Sundial, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it before the 31st. In other book-related news, I’m only 2 books from meeting my Shelf Love challenge goal.
