#FitReaders Check-In #48

Geeky Bloggers Book Blog
  • This check-in is for November 23rd – 29th.
  • I only had one class to go to last week, so my intention was to go to the gym every day of the week to make up for all the steps I would be missing from not walking to and from campus.  Clearly, that didn’t happen.  I was worn out.  This last semester of college has been more exhausting than any other, and all I wanted to do was curl up with a book.  So, that’s what I did.
  • Yesterday, I finally got around to trying out a free fitness game app called “Zombies, Run!”  So far, I love it 🙂  I won’t know for sure if it’s helping me get closer to my goals, but even if it doesn’t, my walks are at least more fun and interesting.
  • If you’d like to add me as a friend on FitBit, you can find me HERE.

    1. The game involves “missions” which are about 30 minutes long (if you pay for the Pro edition you can adjust the times). Each mission is basically a workout session. You hit play and start walking or running, and there are settings for walking/running outside, on a treadmill, or even using a rower if that’s your thing. Throughout the mission you get chased by zombies, and you have to speed up or you get zombified. What I really like about it is that you can listen to music while you’re playing the game, and it will automatically pause and resume the music whenever one of the game’s audio segments kicks in, so you don’t have to push any buttons or mess with your phone once you start. Also, throughout the mission you get items that you can use to build your base after you’re done working out. You can also sync your game info. to the website and then see all your stats like distance, pace, etc. whenever you log in.
