Total pages read this week: 592
Total books for the year: 53 of 85. Tomorrow is the first day of #FrightFall and #SomeithingWickedFall, and I got so excited about it that I went to a bookstore on Saturday and bought The Folcroft Ghosts and The Haunting of Gillespie House, both by Darcy Coates. I started reading The Folcroft Ghosts while I sipped on a smoothie. I had read highly positive reviews of some other books by Coates, but I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was.

The FrightFall readathon starts on September 1st and is running all the way through the end of October! I’m excited for that because it looks like RIP no longer exists.
There’s only one “rule” for FrightFall, and that is at least one scary book (thriller, mystery, Gothic, etc.) has to be read during the readathon. Since that’s pretty much the only kind of books I read during this time of year, I’m good to go.
FrightFall is also a part of #SomethingWickedFall, and this year it includes a read-along of The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. I’ve had this book on my TBR for years, so I’m looking forward to finally reading it. The focus is on Gothic fiction during September and Horror during October, so I’ve divided up my TBR stack accordingly.

October:
Obviously, I won’t be finishing all of these books, but I want options. Lots of options. This isn’t even the complete list, which can be found HERE on Goodreads.

Total books for the year: 51 of 85. Last week was #BoutofBooks 29 and it helped me catch up on my annual reading goal. I’m still behind by 3 books, but I’m hoping that my reading will pick back up next week, after the final exam for my Health Coach certification.

I hardly read at all yesterday. I listened to a tiny bit of The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker, and I read a little of A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel before bed.
I read a lot more this time around than during the last Bout of Books, and finished all but two of my current reads. I’m looking forward to Bout of Books 30 in January!

I finished The Seclusion by Jacqui Castle and This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I then read a bit of A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel before I went to bed. Even though I have less than 100 pages of A History of Reading, I have quite a bit to do today, so I know I won’t finish it. I’m going to listen to another audiobook instead. I haven’t decided which one, though.

I read a little more of The Seclusion by Jacqui Castle, and then listened to a decent chunk of This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I was hoping to finish the audiobook, but the Boyfriend surprised me with a new phone (mine was circling the drain), and I got distracted with setting it up.

I finished reading Spying on the South by Tony Horwitz. I also read a little more of The Seclusion by Jacqui Castle. It was a busy day for me at work, so I didn’t get nearly as much reading in as I wanted. Today will probably be similar, but at least it’s Friday!
