“Thursday’s Things” is a roundup of book related links I’ve come across while wandering down the rabbit hole that is the internet.
During my Sci-Fi Summer reading challenge last year, I did a Thursday’s Things edition that was nothing but links related to Science Fiction.  I realized that I had never done one that was entirely made up of Fantasy.  So, in the spirit of feeling balanced, here are ten bookish Fantasy things I’ve come across:

• A Conglomeration Of Reasons Why Fantasy Books Are Entirely The Greatest Thing Since The Egyptians Baked Cake – THIS!  Not only is Cait hilarious, but she gives all the reasons why Fantasy is my favorite genre above all others.
• Five Epic Fantasies with Gender Equal Societies – My About the Girl in the Book Fort page explains that my mission is to find great Fantasy stories that aren’t sexist.
• The Newbie’s Guide to Fantasy – If you’re a regular reader of this blog, then you’re probably already well-versed in Fantasy.  However, if you stumbled across this out of curiosity, this post is for you.
• Witches and Wizards – Here’s a list of 12 books featuring witches and/or wizards.
• The Supremely Fabulous Fantasy Subgenre Flowchart – While the Newbie’s Guide to Fantasy lists many of the Fantasy subgenres and gives examples, here’s a fantastic flowchart to help you pick just the right Fantasy book you’re looking to read.
• 10 Fantasy Novels Whose Depiction of Women Did Not Make Me Smash Things – Kate Elliot is awesome, so, as far as I’m concerned, if she says a book is good, I’m adding it to my wishlist/TBR.
• Fantasy Faction – Can’t get enough of all things Fantasy?  Head over to Fantasy Faction.
• 7 Standalone Novels for Fantasy Lovers – It seems like just about every Fantasy book I read is a part of a series, but sometimes I only want one story told in one book.  No cliff hangers, no first book that is a setup of the world and characters so you can get to the story in the next book, no long-term commitment.  I stand by the recommendations for Uprooted by Naomi Novik and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
• Locus Online – This is the website for Locus magazine, and while it covers both Science Fiction and Fantasy, it’s a great site to check out for news and new releases.
• Breakout Female Voices of the British Fantasy Scene – I’m adding many of these books to my wishlist solely based on the absolutely beautiful cover art.
