I’ve been sick most of this week 🙁 I started to feel a little better yesterday, and I’m sure most of that was all the great food and company, but I was still in no shape to do any trotting, let alone a Turkey Trot.
I missed 2 days of walking this week thanks to having to go into the office to work. However, I was less than 7K steps from meeting my goal, which is pretty good considering I was barley getting 25K steps a week before I set my new goal.
I nailed my Active Minutes goal, which means I’ll be raising it for next week. I’m think 245 minutes is a good step up since that’s only 15 more minutes than I did this week.
November is going to be all about fitness for me. I’m doing Damn Early Days again, and my goal is to walk 50,000 steps every week. That’s a steep, but achievable, goal since I’ve been doing less than half that number of steps for awhile.
I finally got to a point on the virtual Appalachian Trail to read another chapter of A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. I have also started reading A Philosophy of Walking by Frédéric Gros.
Saturday was Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon. I had planned to go walking while I listened to an audiobook, but that didn’t happen.
I’m doing Damn Early Days again in November, and I’ve got a good plan to get back into a regular workout routine. I’m making my health my primary goal this time around.
I have Synovitis in both of my hands, so I won’t be doing much blogging until it’s under control. Instead, I’m going walking with the Boyfriend for Damn Early Days. So far, it’s been nice getting up early and heading out the door. When we get back, I still have plenty of time to relax with a book, eat breakfast, and drink a huge cup of tea before work 🙂
All of the overtime I’ve been working has caused me a lot of pain in my hands and wrists so I haven’t been able to blog, crochet, or do much of anything I enjoy. I’m definitely not doing any burpies. I have an Occupational Therapy appointment this morning, so I’m hoping to get my hands back to the point where I can do all the things I love to do.
This check-in is for September 29th – October 5th.
I started Damn Early Days on Monday, and it’s been rough! It’s so hard to get out of bed at 5 am when I don’t HAVE to get up. So far, I’ve managed to haul my butt out of bed though. While I haven’t gotten any time on the treadmill in, I’ve gotten a lot of burpies done. I hate burpies, but they really get the blood flowing when I need it most.
I’m working overtime again this week, but I’m also starting Damn Early Days on Monday, so I’ll be getting at least some time in on the treadmill every morning.
The Boyfriend and I have started walking to the grocery store down the street to get stuff for a date night dinner on Fridays instead of going to a restaurant. While the main reason is to save money, it also means we’re both getting some extra exercise before we eat pizza or some other calorie laden dinner.
