Down the TBR Hole #68

Down the TBR Hole was started by Lia over at Lost in a Story.  All book covers are linked to Goodreads unless otherwise noted.

How it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

I will be repeating this process until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR.

My TBR pile is up to 674 books.  I’ve been reading a lot of books, but also adding even more to my wish list.

This week’s books:

Magyk by Angie Sage – KEEP.  Middle-Grade Fantasy.  Why would I get rid of that?

Interesting Times by Matthew Storm- KEEP. A talking cat befriends the MC and then things get interesting. I’m in.

Day of Mindfulness by Milan Barkrania – KEEP.  I like to go back to the basics with Mindfulness and Meditation every once in awhile.

The City Center by Simone Pond – GO.  The synopsis sounds like this book will be very generic Dystopian Fiction.

Elizabeth’s Legacy by Victor Kloss – KEEP. This is another Middle-Grade Fantasy that sounds like it’s right up my alley.

My TBR pile is down one to 673 books.  I’ve got a bunch of Fantasy books coming up for next week, and that means there is a 50/50 chance of keeping them or letting them go.

#24in48 Readathon – Nighty Night, Y'all!

We have reached the end of the 24 in 48 readathon.  I’m going to bed after a well-deserved weekend of reading.

Final Update
I listened to nearly half of Redshirts while I ignored the rest of the world.  I also spent quite a bit of time reading Wizard and Glass, but I’m still about 150 pages from the end.

While I didn’t meet my goal of finishing 3 books, and I didn’t get anywhere near reading for 24 hours, I did have a great time, and I turned more pages than I would have this weekend without the readathon. I know I’ll finish Wizard and Glass this week, probably by Tuesday.

I did not finish Wizard and Glass before I fell asleep.  Not even close.

I’ve got some cleaning to do today, so I will be switching over to an audiobook.  Most likely Redshirts by John Scalzi.

#24in48 Readathon – Hour 12!

It’s hour 12 of the 24 in 48 readathon and here’s my first update!

Update #1
Since the official start time was 12 am EST and I live in California, I had intended to read a bit before I went to bed.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  Instead, I realized just how exhausted I was from an extremely busy week at my new job, and decided to go to sleep early.
I also didn’t read this morning because I was busy getting ready to get out the door to meet with a friend for brunch.  I swear I will read A LOT before my next update, but until then, below is what I intended to read.

#24in48 Readathon!!!


Another #24in48 Readathon is Happening.Right.Now, 9 pm PST (Midnight for all y’all East Coasters)!  This is the Readathon that started it all for me.  I created this blog so I could better connect with the online bookish community.  This will be my 8th 24 in 48, and I’m so excited that I’ll be able to participate all weekend!
Goals:

  • Read for 24 hours.
  • Finish at least three books.
