Currently Reading: Cold Hillside by Nancy Baker, a review book, Villette by Charlotte Brontë, what I’m reading for The Classics Club, The Hobbit and Philosophy, what I’m reading for fun, and Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott, for the read-along.

  

   

Total pages read for the week: 252

Total number of books for the year: 57.  It was another week in which I wasn’t able to get much reading done.  This time, it’s due to studying for Finals, spending time with friends that I won’t see again until next semester, getting a kitten, and the boyfriend and I kitty-proofing our apartment.  So, after I get through the Finals I have today and Wednesday, I’m hoping to get a lot more reading done.  I’ve already had to push back a couple of my reviews, and I really want to get caught up on those as well as finish my current reads before the end of the year.

Total pages read for the week: 117

Total number of books for the year: 57.  Ivanhoe brought me out of my reading slump, but I wasn’t able to get much reading done due to the two Thanksgiving dinners I attended with the boyfriend’s family and also the head cold that hit me like an anvil as if I were Wile E. Coyote.  There are much worse illnesses to have, but I hate head colds the most because they make my brain slow and all I want to do is sleep, drink tea with honey, and eat soup.  I’m considerably better now, after I got back home and slept the rest of the weekend away, so I’m hoping to get a lot more reading done this week.

Finished: The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg, which I reviewed on Friday, and Scrapplings by Amelia Smith, which I’ll be reviewing at the end of the month.

   

Total pages read for the week: 615

Total number of books for the year: 57.  I’ve hit a weird reading slump.  It’s weird because it’s not the kind of reading slump in which I’m not reading, but one in which I don’t want to read.  I’m not sure why.   It might be because I feel like I’m either coming down with a cold or my allergies are getting worse.  However, it might be because Scrapplings was such a disappointment, Cold Hillside, while really good, has a slower pace, Villette is still a struggle to make any progress with, and I miss the fast pace of The Paper Magician.  Actually, I miss everything about The Paper Magician.

Currently Reading: The Nightingale Bones by Ariel Swan, a review book; Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, for the read-along; and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, because it’s October and I love vampires.

  

Finished: Bliss by Kathryn Littlewood.

Total pages read for the week: 256.  This past week was extremely busy, so I wasn’t surprised when I tallied up my pages.

Total number of books for the year: 50.  I’ve met my goal.  Depending on how many more books I finish, I’ll be adjusting it for next year.  I’m hoping to be able to raise it to 75.  This week will be about wrapping up my current reads so that I can get started on my November TBR pile.

Finished: Chimera: Book Two and Chimera: Book Three by Phil Gomm, and The Red Magician by Lisa Goldstein, all of which I’ll be reviewing before the end of the month.

          

Total pages read for the week: 606

Total number of books for the year: 49.  I’m just 1 book away from my goal, and I’m sure I’ll reach it by the end of the week.  Depending on how many more books I finish by the end of the year, I’ll be adjusting my goal for next year.  I’m hoping to be able to raise it to 75.

Currently Reading: Chimera: Book Two by Phil Gomm, a review book, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, for the read-along, and Bliss by Kathryn Littlewood, what I read when I’m out and about.

            

DNF:  The Time Roads by Beth Bernobich.  This book is so horrible, I reviewed it to warn everyone.

Finished: The Door in the Mountain by Caitlin Sweet, which I reviewed Oct. 12th, and Chimera: Book One by Phil Gomm, which I’ll be reviewing sometime before the end of the month.  If you love Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, you’ll love the Chimera books!

     

Total pages read for the week: 502

Total number of books for the year: 46.  I’m only 4 books away from my goal, and I’ll probably reach it by the end of next week.  Depending on how many more books I finish by the end of the year, I’ll be adjusting my goal for next year.  I’m hoping to be able to raise it to 75.
