  • It’s been raining off and on most of the week, and cloudy all the time.  I mowed on Sunday but ended up having to take Monday off from work because of all of the pain I was in.  I don’t think mowing the lawn was what did it, but the Boyfriend said he’d rather hire a lawn service than have either of us have to mow every weekend that’s not rainy just to keep up with it.  Now that we’re not mowing, I might have the time to start a small garden or at least grow some flowers in some pots.

  • This check-in is for April 22nd – 28th.
  • It’s supposed to rain this weekend, which is fine by me since it’s #readathon weekend!  That’s also why I’m posting this today instead of tomorrow.
  • I managed to mow all of the lawn on Saturday, but it took a lot of breaks in the shade and a lot of water.  I got over an hour’s worth of active minutes, and I’m glad I did it since mowing this weekend probably won’t happen.

  • It’s supposed to be 80+ degrees all weekend, and it’s sunny out today (for the time being).  The weather has been a lot better this whole week, with the exception of some rain, and that means I’m not in as much pain as I’ve been in for what feels like forever.  The only downside is all of the yard work I’ve got to try to get done before it rains again.

  • This check-in is for April 8th – 14th.
  • Last week I said I was tired of it being cold and rainy all the time.  Well, it’s still raining, but it warmed up a bit, so I guess that’s an improvement.  I’m meeting up with one of my cousins today and I really hope the rain doesn’t ruin our plans.
  • I had to take a couple of days off of work this week thanks to pain all down my leg making it difficult to walk.  The good news is that I finally have an appointment for an MRI.  I’m one step closer to hopefully getting some real help.

  • My doctor is going to have me get an MRI and then possibly refer me to a spine specialist.  All I’m waiting on is for the imaging department to call me to schedule the MRI, and I hate that I can’t just call them and make the appointment myself.

  • This check-in is for March 18th – 24th.
  • I don’t know if it was the weather or the physical therapy exercises I had been doing, but I ended up in so much pain Monday night and on into Tuesday that I was having trouble walking and couldn’t go to work.  I managed to go to work for the rest of the week, but I’m not taking any more chances with that physical therapy program until after I talk to my doctor on Monday.

  • I received some bad news about my back, but I’m taking it as an opportunity to explore adaptive sports, such as archery and recumbent cycling.  I may not ever be able to run or go hiking again, but I’m not giving up on finding a physical activity besides walking that I enjoy.

  • I had a doctor’s appointment on Monday that put me in a lot of pain, and it shows in my activity level for this week.  I don’t think it would have been as bad had I not needed to get X-rays of my back and hip.  Trying to get into the positions they needed on a cold, hard, unforgiving table and then hold those positions was brutal.
