Normally, I only do one “Thursday’s Things” a month, but there are a lot of great things happening right now that I wanted to make sure all of my readers know about before the end of the month.
- Geeky Giving: What It Is & Awesome Giveaways! – Felicia over at Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog posted about this amazing way to donate money to an awesome cause and get a Sci-Fi book bundle and the chance to win a very cool giveaway while you’re at it. Side note: I’ll be hosting a Sci-Fi reading challenge in the near future, and the book bundle looks like it would make for some excellent reading.
- Outlander Season 2 Premiere Date and Trailer – Amazon has added a way to stream Starz, Showtime, and other subscription cable channels to their Amazon Prime Video service for a monthly fee. I haven’t tried it out yet, so I don’t know any of the specifics, but you can be sure I will when Outlander Season 2 comes back in April.
- Classic Romance Novels Worth Reading – Valentine’s Day may be over, but if you’re still in the mood for a love story, and you also enjoy or want to try out some Classic literature, give one of these a try. My personal favorites are Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.
- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Also Coming in Book Form – I was never going to bother seeing the play, but I might read the book.
- New Harry Potter Series Added to Funko Pop! Collection – I’m adding Dobby to my Christmas wishlist.
- 16 Perfect Books To Fill The Void Left By Mad Men – This was posted back when the show aired its last episode, but the Boyfriend and I don’t have cable. We’ve been waiting not so patiently for Netflix to add the second half of the last season, and now that it has, I’m not sure what to do after we watch it. Maybe this list of books will help.
- 13 Facts About L. Frank Baum’s ‘Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ – I reviewed The Wonderful Wizard of Oz yesterday, so here are some fun facts about the book and author.
- Unusual Jobs of Famous Writers – I also started my new job on Tuesday. While I’m not a famous writer, I thought this would be fitting since my job has nothing to do with writing or books. It also has nothing to do with my degree.
- This Adorable Alabama Bookstore Only Sells Signed Copies – It’s still Feel the Paper Love February, so why not celebrate with a signed copy of a book you love? This article doesn’t mention their website, but I found it with a little help from Google.
- The Library: A New Short Film On the Wonder of Libraries – February is also Library Lover’s Month, so here’s a video about a library.
