Winter 2014-2015 COYER Progress:  I’ve read 1 book towards my goal of 10, but in trying to get as much reading time in as possible and also celebrating Christmas, I haven’t kept up with my “social” goals.

Total pages read for the week: 873

Total number of books for the year: 64.  I got a lot more reading done than I thought I would.  I’ve made a lot of progress with getting caught up on my review books. I pushed one back to January, but with some luck and lots of reading time over the next couple of days, I shouldn’t have to push anymore back.  I’m also determined to finish 65 books this year, so I’m going to try to finish either The Sunken or Ivanhoe before the 1st.

Elora

Total pages read for the week: 399

Total number of books for the year: 59.  This week was much better than the last couple of weeks as far as how many pages I managed to read.  However, I ended up sleeping for most of Thursday instead of reading, and I had a whole list of things to get done on Friday before I went to a Christmas party that evening.  I then spent most of Saturday with my Best Friend.  So overall, I didn’t spend as much time reading as I thought I would.  I regret nothing though.  I really needed the sleep after Finals, I had a great time at the party, and my Best Friend is far more important to me than my page count for the week.  There’s also the added bonuses of having this whole week to spend reading, because I completed my to-do list, and I can stay up reading as long as I want and get up when I want because I don’t have any classes.  I’m going to treat the time as my personal readathon and see how many books I can finish and get reviewed before I head out to spend Christmas with the boyfriend’s family.  I would love to finish off all of my current reads before the end of the year.

Total pages read for the week: 252

Total number of books for the year: 57.  It was another week in which I wasn’t able to get much reading done.  This time, it’s due to studying for Finals, spending time with friends that I won’t see again until next semester, getting a kitten, and the boyfriend and I kitty-proofing our apartment.  So, after I get through the Finals I have today and Wednesday, I’m hoping to get a lot more reading done.  I’ve already had to push back a couple of my reviews, and I really want to get caught up on those as well as finish my current reads before the end of the year.

Total pages read for the week: 117

Total number of books for the year: 57.  Ivanhoe brought me out of my reading slump, but I wasn’t able to get much reading done due to the two Thanksgiving dinners I attended with the boyfriend’s family and also the head cold that hit me like an anvil as if I were Wile E. Coyote.  There are much worse illnesses to have, but I hate head colds the most because they make my brain slow and all I want to do is sleep, drink tea with honey, and eat soup.  I’m considerably better now, after I got back home and slept the rest of the weekend away, so I’m hoping to get a lot more reading done this week.

Total pages read for the week: 615

Total number of books for the year: 57.  I’ve hit a weird reading slump.  It’s weird because it’s not the kind of reading slump in which I’m not reading, but one in which I don’t want to read.  I’m not sure why.   It might be because I feel like I’m either coming down with a cold or my allergies are getting worse.  However, it might be because Scrapplings was such a disappointment, Cold Hillside, while really good, has a slower pace, Villette is still a struggle to make any progress with, and I miss the fast pace of The Paper Magician.  Actually, I miss everything about The Paper Magician.

What are you reading this week?  Have you ever had the kind of reading slump I’m talking about?  If so, what did you do, or what book brought you out of it?

What I’m Reading Monday #10

Total pages read for the week: 482

Total number of books for the year: 52.  It’s such a relief to have surpassed my goal for the year.  Now I’m concentrating on finishing books I had started as well as reading the review books I’ve got lined up for this month.  I’m not going to be participating in any read-alongs, read-a-thons, or challenges this month, since the holidays are just around the corner, and I’ve got Finals in December.  I need to relax, and I want to get back to a consistent schedule while I can.  That means Thursday’s Quotables will be every week (except on Thanksgiving), instead of being cancelled due to other posts.  I have a few ideas for new features, but I’m going to wait until at least mid-December before I start those.

Total number of books for the year: 44.  My reading is continuing to pick back up from my September slump.  I hope I can keep it going for the rest of the year, but if I continue to get books to review, I don’t think that will be an issue.
