Total books for the year: 3 of 50.  This week was Bout of Books, and I love starting off the new year with this challenge/readathon.  I always feel like I’m getting a head start on my reading goals, and right now I’m 2 books ahead of schedule.  I also love taking the time near the beginning of the year to put everything else aside and relax for a bit.  It’s a nice reminder that not everything has to get done Right Now.

Total books for the year: 0 of 50.  The Fifth Doll was my 94th book of 2018.  Though I went well over my goal of 90 books, I wasn’t working for nearly half of the year, and I found myself choosing shorter books over what I really wanted to read after I started my new job.  Though most of the books I read were good (and many were great), I don’t want to do that again.

Total books for the year: 87 of 90.  I’ve only got 3 more books to go to reach my reading goal for the year.  I’ve started my annual read of The Hobbit, which should go by quickly, and I plan on reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens before Christmas (as I also do every year), so that leaves me with one book to finish before the 31st.  I was hoping to finish The Book of Lost Things this weekend, but it looks like that will continue to be my “bus book” despite how much I’m enjoying it.

Total books for the year: 85 of 90.  Yesterday was the last day of the #ThanksgivingReadathon, and I’m now only 5 books away from my annual reading goal.  I’m still not sure how I’m going to finish 5 books in what is now just over a month, but the office where I work shuts down for the rest of the year right before Christmas so I figure I’ll have plenty of reading time then.  Until then, I will be trying to make up all of the hours I missed from being sick.

For some reason, Goodreads counted my DNF books into the number of books I’ve read this year.  I was able to fix the issue, and the number of books I’ve read this year is a bit lower than I thought.  I’m still 5 books ahead of schedule according to Goodreads, but I’m not sure how I’m going to finish 6 books in less than 2 months.
