Total books for the year: 5 of 90. For some reason, Sixpence House is difficult for me to pick up, but once I do, I don’t want to stop reading. Unfortunately, I tend to only read it before bed, and then have to force myself to be a Responsible Adult and put it down. I have an eye exam today, so I will be bringing the book with me in case I have any waiting to do.

Total books for the year: 88 of 85. I’m trying to finish all of my current reads by New Year’s Eve so that I can bring in the New Year with a new book from my TBR to kick off my #ShelfLove challenge. I’m well over halfway through Lagom, a little more than 20% of the way through The Girl in the Tower, and nearly 30% through Around the World with Auntie Mame, so I think I can do it if I really buckle down and not give in to the temptation of starting any other books.

I’ve had several Christmas-related books for years and figured I would take a break from my annual re-read of A Christmas Carol to read them. I might still read A Christmas Carol, but with only 4 days until Christmas, I’m not going to rush myself.
