Total books for the year: 42 of 85. Reading The Miracle Morning last week was probably the best thing I’ve done for myself so far this year. I’ve been doing Miracle Mornings every day since last Monday, and part of the Miracle Morning is to read other motivational books. I got into the 2 books I finished this week during my Miracle Mornings, and then continued to read them throughout the day when I had time. I’ve also been watching a lot of Mel Robbins’ videos on Youtube. All of that is helping me stick with doing what needs to be done to reach my goals and make lasting positive changes in my life.

Total books for the year: 40 of 85. I am trying to get my life back in order, and figured one of the best ways to start that process would be to read something motivational. I had been wanting to read The Miracle Morning for quite awhile, so thought it would be the perfect book to get me started. I was right. It’s not a perfect book, but it was what I needed to get my butt in gear.

Total books for the year: 39 of 85. I wasn’t supposed to start any new books until I finished at least one of the books I’ve been reading for several months now. However, Spying on the South came highly recommended, and since it was published about a year ago, I decided not to wait. It also fits in with the “Literature of the American Renaissance” class I’ve been taking, since it’s about the travels and writings of Frederick Olmstead shortly before the Civil War.

I’m about two-thirds through, and I will probably finish it today, especially since it’s Memorial Day, and I stay off social media on this day.

Total books for the year: 37 of 85. I had a successful #BoutofBooks! All of the books I finished were for the online classes I’m taking. I’m probably going to take a break from reading assignments this week, and get back to the other books I’ve been neglecting.

Total books for the year: 33 of 85. I forgot that today is the first day of #BoutofBooks! How did that happen? I got distracted by a new-to-me game called “Stardew Valley,” and everything else fell to the wayside. The only thing I did accomplish was getting nearly all of my Emerson reading completed for the online class I’m taking. My post for Bout of Books will be up shortly, especially since I’m in need of a digital detox, and a week-long reading challenge is the perfect prescription for that.

I love readathons because it all but guarantees I’ll get through roughly 1k pages, and probably finish at least 3 books. #BoutofBooks is coming up soon, so keep your eye out for my sign-up post!
