Monday’s Minutes

“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life.

Currently Reading:

  • Sixpence House by Paul Collins
  • Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff

Finished:

  • The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop by Lewis Buzbee

Total pages read this week: 221

Total books for the year: 5 of 90. For some reason, Sixpence House is difficult for me to pick up, but once I do, I don’t want to stop reading. Unfortunately, I tend to only read it before bed, and then have to force myself to be a Responsible Adult and put it down. I have an eye exam today, so I will be bringing the book with me in case I have any waiting to do.

Total books for the year: 88 of 85. I’m trying to finish all of my current reads by New Year’s Eve so that I can bring in the New Year with a new book from my TBR to kick off my #ShelfLove challenge. I’m well over halfway through Lagom, a little more than 20% of the way through The Girl in the Tower, and nearly 30% through Around the World with Auntie Mame, so I think I can do it if I really buckle down and not give in to the temptation of starting any other books.

Total books for the year: 85 of 85. I’m trying to catch up on all of my Christmas reading. I’ve had several Christmas-related books for years and figured I would take a break from my annual re-read of A Christmas Carol to read them. I might still read A Christmas Carol, but with only 4 days until Christmas, I’m not going to rush myself.

Total books for the year: 77 of 85. Today starts the #ThanksgivingReadathon. Instead of listening to podcasts, I’ll be listening to audiobooks. Instead of magazines, I’ll be reading physical books, and instead of reading articles on my phone, I’ll open up an ebook. Even though I’m still 1 book ahead of schedule for my reading goal, as things get busier, I don’t want to fall behind.
