I didn’t do much reading again this week. Instead, I did things to better winterize the house and did a lot of organizing and cleaning when I wasn’t working. I only have Thanksgiving day off from work this week, and it’s the first job I’ve had that I didn’t have Friday off as well. Hopefully, I’ll be able to spend the weekend mostly reading.
Despite having Veteran’s Day off and the house to myself for most of the week, I didn’t do much reading. I don’t know if it’s a reading slump or what, but I’m getting concerned that I’m not going to make my annual reading goal for the first time since I started setting one.
Now that I’m working full-time again, I feel like the only time I have to read is when I listen to audiobooks during my commute and a little bit before bed. It doesn’t help that I’m spending the majority of my weekend unpacking and finding a place for everything in the house. I emptied a lot of boxes this weekend, but it feels like I hardly made a dent.
#RIP is now over, and while I didn’t finish any more books or make anymore Bingos, the Boyfriend and I watched “The Shining” on Friday and “Crimson Peak” on Saturday after we finished “Brand New Cherry Flavor.” I started a new job on Monday, and while I could read during my 30-minute lunch, I get along really well with my coworkers and have spent my lunchtime chatting with them while I eat instead.
I finally got a Bingo for RIP, and not only did I get one, but I got two, thanks to Meddling Kids and The Sweet Far Thing. I’m reading the group book now, The Sundial, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it before the 31st. In other book-related news, I’m only 2 books from meeting my Shelf Love challenge goal.
The Boyfriend and I are one story away from finishing Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror. We’ve watched all of “Midnight Mass” and are now a couple of episodes into “Brand New Cherry Flavor,” which is extremely weird.
It’s October! The Boyfriend and I are continuing to read Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror together. We’ve also watched all of “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and have started watching “Midnight Mass.” On Saturday, I continued watching “Supernatural”, and it’s gotten good again, so far. I still plan to at least finish season 13, and then I’ll decide if I want to continue.
It’s October! The Boyfriend and I started reading Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror together. It’s a book of Middle-Grade Horror short stories, and I think we’re going to read one story a night.
I can’t believe it’s almost October already! I’ve finished 7 books for RIP, started two others (one physical, one audio), and I started listening to my “October Country” playlist. I still haven’t decided which book to read for “Peril of the Real” so I can get my first Bingo, but both of my current reads are over 700 pages, so I’ve got some time to figure it out.
It’s the 3rd week of #RIPXVI and I’m still flying through pages. I’ve finished 5 books, started two others (one physical, one audio), and I’m just over halfway through the 13th season of “Supernatural.” It might be my last season, though, because it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous, and major stuff that would’ve taken them two or three episodes in earlier seasons now takes them less than half an episode to do. I’m also getting really tired of the overarching storyline and really miss the back-to-back good old-fashioned monster hunting and killing episodes. I’m going to try to at least finish the season before I move on to something else. I just have to figure out what to read for “Peril of the Real” so I can get my first Bingo.
