  • Bluecrowne by Kate Milford
  • The Twelve Deaths of Christmas by Marian Babson

Finished:

  • In Peppermint Peril by Joy Avon

Total pages read this week: 322

Total books for 2022: 86 of 85.

The Boyfriend and I aren’t able to travel to see family this holiday season, so I’m doing everything I can to make Christmas at home. I did all of my Christmas shopping, we went and picked out a real tree, I made gingerbread last night, and I’m hoping to get the tree decorated today after I make fudge. Every time I’m in my car, I’ve got a Christmas-themed audiobook playing, and I’m hoping to find time today to put together a new Christmas music playlist.

  • I’ve got less than 60 miles to walk to reach my 800-mile goal for the year!
  • I had my final physical therapy appointment this week and met all the goals we agreed on during my initial appointment.  I’ll never be pain-free, but my average day-to-day pain is low enough now that I can mostly ignore it, and I have a TENS unit for when I can’t.
  • If you have a FitBit, you can find me HERE.

  • Steps: 38,545
  • Miles: 15.59/15.33

I hit my reading goal for the year, and I’ll probably finish a couple more books by New Year’s Eve. I want to read some of the longer books on my TBR next year, so I think my goal for 2023 will be a little lower.

Come November gave me a lot of strong feels and brought up a lot of dark memories that made it pretty obvious that there are parts of my childhood I haven’t fully processed. Needless to say, it’s been a rough week for me, emotionally, so a Cozy Mystery and some Middle-Grade Fiction felt like just the kinds of books I need right now. I’ve been reading them in the afternoon and before bed instead of continuing to read the two mental health books I’ve been slowly making my way through in the morning.

#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for November 11th – 17th.
  • I’m posting this later in the day than I normally like, but the Boyfriend and I went shopping for everything we need to make Thanksgiving dinner, and that took quite a bit of time.
  • I am so excited to be less than 10 miles away from hitting 700 miles!  I’ve been trying to hit that miler marker for the Charity Challenge for years, and I just barely missed it last year, but this year I’ve got over a month left to go.  I know I won’t reach 1K miles, but I think I might still be able to get to 800.  I’ve adjusted my goal accordingly.

Since I only have 4 books left to reach my goal for the year, and I typically read 6 or 7 books in a month, I’ve started listening to podcasts again instead of back-to-back audiobooks. I’m also doing some things in silence that I used to only do while listening to something (crocheting for example), in an attempt to give my brain a break. To top it off, I’m reading more Non-Fiction than I normally do, thanks to restarting the Miracle Morning practice, part of which involves reading books about whatever it is you want to work on. For me, that means my mental health, so I’m reading about that for 10 minutes each morning.

#FitReaders Check-In

  • This check-in is for November 4th – 10th.
  • I’m posting this a day early since I’m not working today because it’s Veterans’ Day.
  • I typically don’t do anything special on Veterans’ Day, even though I am a Veteran and there are tons of free and discounted things to get and do for Veterans and their families on this day.  However, that usually means crowded places, which stresses me out.  I would rather stay home and relax.
