- My tomato plant isn’t doing well, and I was reading that a lot of gardeners are having trouble, too. Apparently, even though tomatoes are heat-tolerant, it’s been too hot for too long, and tomatoes and other plants like green beans and peppers aren’t growing as much as they normally would and are taking much longer to ripen. I thought it was something I was doing wrong, and I’m glad to know that’s not the reason.
