Monday's Minutes

“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life.  All book covers are linked to Goodreads unless otherwise noted.
Currently Reading:

  • To Visit the Queen by Diane Duane
  • Cinderella’s Big Score by Maria Raha
  • Day After Night by Anita Diamant

Total pages read this week: 112
Total books for the year: 14 of 50. It was the Boyfriend’s Birthday this weekend, and I was swamped with work stuff all week.  Naturally, reading took a back seat.  I have no regrets, though, especially since this weekend is Dewey’s 24-Hour #Readathon.

Total books for the year: 14 of 50. It was a busy week, and finding time to sit and read for more than a couple of minutes was next to impossible.  This week will likely be just as busy since it’s the Boyfriend’s Birthday this weekend and one of his closest friends is flying out to visit.

Total books for the year: 13 of 50. I finally finished Smash! and then decided to immediately start Cinderella’s Big Score because, as much as I loved Smash!, it didn’t mention any female Punk bands.  That’s fine, since it was the story of Green Day, The Offspring, and Rancid (along with a couple of other 90’s Punk bands), but it’s Women’s History Month, and I need a little more L7, Bikini Kill, and Veruca Salt (along with so many more) in my life right now.

I thought I would finish Smash! this week, but I got sucked in to Women in Texas, which nearly the first half is all about some of the women who lived before Texas became a state on up to the Civil War.  I will finish both books before the end of the month, though, and hopefully all three.

This past week was rough.  I read a lot more than I thought I would have time for, and I’m pretty sure that was me doing the right thing and practicing self-care by making time for reading.  I also really love the books I’m reading right now, which always makes a difference in how many pages I turn.

Total pages read this week: 593
Total books for the year: 10 of 50.  How is The Court of Thorns and Roses considered to be YA?!  I’ve been sick most of the week, and am finally beginning to feel human again. Luckily, I don’t have work today so I can continue to rest whenever I’m not washing everything my germy self has come in contact with while I’ve been stuck at home.
