  • I’ve temporarily changed my workouts from the strength and circuit training I had been doing to walking “workouts” in which my FitBit registers at least 20 consecutive Active Minutes.  My back has continued to bother me, so I’ve been giving it a break as much as I can.

  • This check-in is for August 10th – 16th.
  • I didn’t workout on Thursday thanks to my apartment building’s fire alarms going off at around 4 am.  It ended up being a malfunctioning sensor, so no damage to anything other than everyone’s precious sleep.  It also happened to be my first day of work, so I slept in as long as I could before I needed to get ready and out the door.

  • This check-in is for August 3rd – 9th.
  • I’ve been working on getting back to the number of reps for each exercise of my workouts that I had been doing prior to last week, and I achieved that this morning (and a little more)!  I can now do 12 regular push ups and 3 modified ones along with 15 reps each of the other exercises and a full minute plank.
  • I missed a workout this week due to another interview, but I can happily say that I was offered the job yesterday! 🙂

  • This check-in is for July 27th -August 2nd.
  • I was sick earlier this week and had a job interview yesterday.  I’ve also had quite a bit of trouble sleeping lately.  So, I’m a little surprised that I managed to get in 4 workouts this week along with 308 active minutes!

  • This check-in is for July 20th -26th.
  • I haven’t lost any weight since starting my new workout routine.  However, I had to get rid of 3 shirts for being way too big on me, and an older, much smaller pair of yoga pants now fits me after spending over a year in the drawer because they were too tight.  I might throw out the scale, but for now I will just stop using it.

  • This check-in is for June 29th – July 5th.
  • I recently tried another exercise app, The Walk, by Six to Start, the creators of the Zombies, Run! app, and so far I like it.  My only complaint is that it doesn’t have the music feature that Zombies, Run! has.
  • In addition to my morning workouts, I managed to get over 10K steps on two separate days this week!  Hoofing it from place to place is becoming easier and more enjoyable now that I’m getting some much needed strength training.

  • This check-in is for June 22nd – 28th.
  • It’s taken me a long time to find something that not only works for me but that I WANT to stick to doing.  That is the workout program in the book Zombies, Run! Keeping Fit and Living Well in the Current Zombie Emergency by Naomi Alderman.

  • I suppose it makes sense that I would love the book since the Zombies, Run! app was often the only thing that would get me out of the office to go walking during my breaks.
  • While I’ll still be tracking my steps, miles, and active minutes, my focus will be on my new goal of doing my workouts each day.  Since I didn’t start until Monday, I’m short of my new goal by 2 days.

  • This check-in is for June 15th – 21st.
  • I’ve decided to no longer track how much money my activity is accruing for donation through Plus3.  It’s such a tiny amount that I no longer feel it’s worth my time to check every week.  I’m keeping my FitBit connected so that my activity continues to go towards charity, but I won’t be including the amount in my check-ins anymore.
