Monday's Minutes

“Monday’s Minutes” is a weekly post in which I track my bookish life.  All book covers are linked to Goodreads unless otherwise noted.
Currently Reading:

  • Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
  • A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
  • The Kindness Handbook by Sharon Salzberg
  • The Portable Dorothy Parker by Dorothy Parker
  • A Philosophy of Walking by Frédéric Gros
  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
  • Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans
  • Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson

Challenges:

  • COYER: 1 of 30 from The List, 8 for “The One With The Twist”

Total pages read this week: 234
Total books for the year: 13 of 90.  If it weren’t for listening to Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, I wouldn’t have read much of anything this week.  The Boyfriend and I finished packing up the apartment and completed the 1st half of our road trip to California.  We’re currently visiting his Mom and her Husband in Arizona.  I’m not 100% sure what day we’re leaving, but I’m catching up on sleep, eating food that didn’t come from a drive-through, and generally relaxing.  I also got to hang out with my BFF on Sunday and I already miss her!
What are you reading this week?

  1. What state are you moving from and why did you choose California? Just call me Nosy Nora. Ha ha. You have probably done a post about it somewhere. Sorry you are missing your bestie. 💜
I have The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and I need to read it. I’ll be looking for your thoughts on it. And someday I might re-read Les Misérables, but that is one loooooooooooopoong book! Audiobooks have saved me many times from reading slumps. I also use the text-to-speech on my Kindle sometimes. 📚
I hope the last leg of your journey goes smoothly. Have a wonderful week. ☺

    1. I’m moving from TX. The Boyfriend got a job in CA, and there’s no way I wouldn’t move with him. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is definitely worth reading! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. I feel for you about the fast food thing- I ate so much crap when my grandma was ill and after her funeral that I really hate to even think about food not from my kitchen. I hope your move goes well and that you enjoy CA- it’s a nice place, from what I’ve heard.
