Total # of books for the year: 68 of 85.  I’m now working from home.  No more commuting for close to 2 hours everyday!  Unfortunately, I’m working mandatory overtime this week, so there goes those 2 extra hours 🙁  I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to read Slade House for #RIPXII, but I happened to find it on clearance at B&N yesterday and I took it as a sign.

Total # of books for the year: 63 of 85.  I got a lot of reading done thanks to #BoutofBooks 20.  Which is also partly why I have SEVEN books in my current reads list.  The other reason is because I got to Book People really early for the Austin #Litsy meet up, and while I only intended on buying 1 book, I ended up buying 3 and got sucked into one of them while I was killing time in the café.  I’m not going to allow myself to get distracted by any more books this week and try to finish as many as possible so I can start the stack of book I pulled off my shelves for September.

Total # of books for the year: 61 of 85.  Today starts #BoutofBooks 20, so I’ll be concentrating on finishing up my current reads.  However, I already have a stack of 15 books that I would like to read during September and October.  With the exception of Christmas, the Fall is my favorite time of year.  I used to think it was Winter, but I’ve realized that while I love (and miss) snow and all the cold weather clothing options, I feel more at home when the days are just beginning to shorten, the leaves start turning, and the stories I read, watch, and listen to get spookier.

Total # of books for the year: 55 of 85.  On Tuesday, I had a mammogram and ultrasound.  I found out that I now have to get a biopsy.  On top of that, my cat, Dresden, has been acting more skittish than usual and freaking out over what seems to be nothing.  The Boyfriend took him to the vet and Dresden seems to be suffering from anxiety potentially caused by a fall.  Understandably, I haven’t been in the mood to read anything dark.  Though I managed to finish Lord of the Flies, I decided to listen to Book, Line, and Sinker and reread The Hobbit as comfort reads.  I don’t know how long I will need to stay away from The Road and Allegiant.

Total # of books for the year: 47 of 85.  After finishing The Circle by Dave Eggers, I had a huge urge to reread 1984, one of my favorites from when I was in high school.  I also started The Ghost Ship because I needed something a little more light-hearted after The Circle and to take the edge off my reading both 1984 and Parable of the Sower.  Last night, I dipped back into The Secret History of Wonder Woman after going to see the movie for the 2nd time with a friend who hadn’t seen it yet.  It was just as awesome as the 1st time, and I can’t wait until it comes out on DVD.
