I bought a stepper to help me out with meeting my fitness goals. I walk as much as I can throughout the day, and then when I get home I get on the stepper to get some more steps in before dinner. So far, it’s helping, and while I’m still not back up to 40K, I did increase my steps by about 3K compared to last week.
I was hoping to continue getting as many steps as I did while I was on vacation, but with the exception of Tuesday (when I got over 10K steps), that didn’t happen.
I went to Lake Tahoe this week with the Boyfriend and a couple of friends. We all needed a break from the craziness of city life. I got a lot of fresh air, a lot of exercise from walking around, and ate a lot of great food. I also got sun burnt, and will be spending this weekend slathering myself with aloe.
This was a rough week. My cat, Dresden, got sick, and I had to take him to the vet. I felt tired all week, and was dealing with allergies. My feet and legs have been hurting thanks to plantar faciitis and ITBS, and I had to go back to doing my physical therapy exercises instead of the workouts I had planned. Hopefully next week will be better.
In addition to my daily exercise, I’m going to add in a weekend 30 minute cardio workout. I’ve been focusing on doing my physical therapy exercises, and I think my back is at a point where I can handle some cardio.
This week was a struggle, so it’s no surprise that I didn’t hit my step or active minutes goals. I’m hoping the addition of some cardio will help change that.
I’m less than 100 miles from finishing the Appalachian Trail on Walking 4 Fun. It’s taken me over 3 years to get to this point, but I’m still looking forward to reaching Mount Katahdin, and then starting a new virtual trail.
My stats are still increasing each week. I increased my step count by a little more than 2K, and added on nearly an hour’s worth of active minutes! I’m going to try to get my steps to 40K and my active minutes to 300 this week.
